XO Minced Meat Noodles – AMK ✯
It was Aster’s turn to be starving after the trek at Macritchie reservoir. The nice taxi uncle that agreed to drive us to AMK (Ang Mo Kio) MRT station, even though he had a booking, led us to AMK Hub (an unscheduled destination).
Since Aster was starving, we decided to head to the foodcourt at AMK Hub (located at the same floor as every mall, the top).
I wasn’t as hungry as her (I was more tired than hungry actually), so she went to scout for what she wanted and came back with a plate of Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee. I had a taste of it hoping to whet my appetite, but it was pretty normal, nothing special.
The main topic however, is the XO Minced Meat Noodles. Sounds awesome right? I can tell you, the food looks pretty nice as well, almost matching up to its name! However… I’ve to tell you, never in my life have I seen food with a nice name, looks delicious, and taste horrible… It’s just like seeing a sexy lady from the back who smells great and find out that she has a face of Mo Xiaoling or Abigail when she turns around.
The noodles were not cooked! For the first time in my life, I’ve had the chance to try what half-cooked noodles taste like. Thanks AssO noodles! For someone whose profession is a cook to serve a half-cooked noodles is totally unacceptable. The taste is indescribable… If I had tasted shit before, I would have said shit. I really have no idea what on earth is wrong with the noodles?!?! Some food is too bland or too salty or too cold or too sweet or too sour, etc. This… Is too shit!
The best part of it is that they have pictures of celebrities (click to enlarge the image on top). They are a recommended stall. I’ve always believe that these food review shows are crap. I’ve always thought to myself: “Would they really say it isn’t nice even if they thought so? Because everything that goes into their mouth is nice. They only have nice things to say about the food.” Now, I know that what I’ve always suspected is true.
I really hope it’s a one off thing that happened only to me or the people patronising on that day, because, it probably won’t be very long before they have to close down.
I’m someone who loves to eat, and believes it’s a sin to waste food (in any religious or non-religious book), especially meat. XO has caused me to sin, because I couldn’t finish the food. Oh… I just remembered, that wasn’t food, it’s shit. I’ve been redeemed! Liberated! Released from the binds of sin!
I pray I don’t have to try something this bad ever again. Amen.
